Iced Latte with Homemade Oat Milk Using your MOD Cold Press Juicer
Nowadays there are so many delicious milk alternatives on the market. Plant-based milks have become a staple for those following a vegan diet or dealing with a lactose intolerance. Soy, almond and oat are the three most common substitutes, with most cafes and restaurants stocking at least one of these non-dairy delights.
What you may not have known about these store-bought beverages is that they often come with additives. Not only do most grocery store plant-based milks have sugar and preservatives added, they're also usually formulated with a very watered down version of the main ingredient. Making your own plant-based milk at home is the absolute best way to assure you know exactly what you're sipping on.
One of our favorite plant-based milk recipes to make with the MOD Cold Press Juicer is oat milk!
Oats are a whole-grain carbohydrate, meaning they are unrefined and consumed in their "whole" form. Whole grains have been said to help minimise risk of heart disease as well as diabetes and obesity.

Directions

Start by measuring out your desired amount of oats and pour into a bowl. Depending on how many servings you would like to make, we suggest starting with 1 cup of oats and doubling the recipe in future if you would like to make a bigger batch
Fill the bowl with enough water so that the oats are fully submerged. Leave for 2-3 hours. We do not recommend soaking oats overnight as this will make them too soft to properly filter through your MOD Cold Press juicer.
Next, drain the water and add in fresh water. You will want to use a 1 to 3 ratio (1 part oats to 3 parts water).
Set up your MOD Cold Press juicer with the normal juice filter
Then, use a measuring cup to scoop the oat and water mixture into the juicer. Add one scoop at a time and watch as delicious oat milk pours oat!

Make two shots of espresso. If you prefer to use brewed coffee make a strong batch and use about 1/2 cup for your latte.
Optional: If you typically use sweetener, add it in directly to the hot espresso or coffee
Fill your glass or reusable mug with ice
Pour 2/3 cup of oat milk in the glass
Pour the espresso or strong coffee over top
Stir, sip and enjoy!
