Green Mango Smoothie
This creamy mango smoothie is naturally sweet thanks to the mango and banana yet it is still packed with greens.
Hemp seeds are an awesome source of both protein and essential fatty acids. The body is unable to produce essential fatty acids on it’s own yet they are crucial for long term health, therefore it is super important that they are regularly included in your diet.
Psyllium husk is also a great addition to smoothies. Not only does it work to thicken smoothies, it is a great source of fibre and is fantastic for gut health. If you don’t have any on hand, chia or flax seeds can be subbed in for a similar result.
Lastly, a note on maca powder. Maca can now be found in the health food aisle of most supermarkets. It has a slightly earthy, caramel taste that adds a nice complexity to this smoothie. It is loaded with a number of important nutrients including vitamin C, copper and iron. If you can’t get your hands on any, subbed for extra hemp seeds and a pinch more cinnamon.
