Ingredients
-
1 can chickpeas (drained and rinsed)
-
1 TBSP good quality tahini
-
1 garlic, minced
-
Juice from 1 lemon
-
Pinch of salt and pepper
-
A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and a sprinkle of paprika to finish (optional)
Directions
Before you start you'll need to make a couple small changes to your juicer; Firstly remove the regular strainer and rotating wiper and replace it with the sorbet strainer;
Secondly you'll need to remove the orange pulp tab underneath the juicing bowl (see video for reference);
Simply mix all the ingredients in a bowl and slowly feed it through the wide-mouth chute of your juicer.
Serve in a dipping bowl, sprinkle over paprika and drizzle with some extra virgin olive oil. Serve alongside pita bread and veggie sticks.
Recipe Note
It will keep in a tupperware container in the fridge for a couple of days and is great on toast, topped with avocado and fried eggs or your sandwich for lunch.
This recipe also freezes really well! Any leftover hummus can be frozen into ice cubes and then transferred to a snap lock bag. Simply leave out for an hour so before use or defrost gently in the microwave.
