Juice Recipe to Calm the Busy Bride
There is so much leading up to the big day that needs to be organised. From flowers and bridal party attire to seating charts, music and speeches, it is easy to get overwhelmed and have the whole process of getting married seem a lot more stressful than it really ought to be.
So, to help calm the nerves, reset the mind and breathe a little easier, we have two tips for you!
Tip #1:
The feelings of stress and anxiety can somewhat be eased by changing up your diet to include certain foods.
By when you're busy planning your wedding, we know it's easy to forget to eat all the right things. So we created a juice that is a melody of fruits and vegetables that have been scientifically proven to help calm stress, anxiety and keep your mind and body in tip top shape.
And the best part, it is created using common fruit and veg you probably have sitting in your fridge right now.
Here is a breakdown of why we chose these particular ingredients:
Spinach (or any other dark leafy green) is loaded with magnesium. A study done on mice showed that when some mice were fed a diet that was low in magnesium, those mice exhibited increased anxiety-related behaviours compared with mice who were fed diets high in magnesium.
Celery contains tryptophan, which triggers the release of serotonin, helping to support sleep and reduce anxiety.
Apples are packed with antioxidants and anxiety is thought to be correlated with a lower total antioxidant state. Therefore, by increasing the amount of antioxidants in your diet, this may help to ease symptom of anxiety and anxiousness,
Ginger (and turmeric) contain antioxidant and anti-anxiety properties.
See below for the step by step recipe and remember take a moment to breathe, it is called 'slow juicing' after all.
