French toast does not have to be an indulgence. You can satisfy your sweet tooth and still eat a meal that is refined sugar free and has a healthy serve of protein, vitamin C, antioxidants and whole grains (if you choose a seedy, grainy bread).

Brioche is traditionally used in french toast, but it will still taste delicious subbing in something slightly more wholesome. 

This is a great way to use up oranges. It adds a lovely sweetness that would normally be achieved by adding sugar to the egg mixture. Using oranges instead of milk also makes this a dairy free breakfast. Typically 2-3 oranges will produce one cup of juice, but feel free to juice extra and serve the breakfast alongside a glass of freshly made orange juice!
