Eleni from Vasili's Garden has created a super refreshing summer smoothie in her MOD Blend Pro that is easy to whip up and is perfectly sweet. It is great for both kids and adults alike and makes a wonderful mid morning or mid afternoon snack. If you are wanting something a bit more substantial, try adding your favourite vanilla or plain protein powder. 

The beetroot helps to stimulate functions of the liver and will keep you nice and healthy. The nutrients it contains can help fight chronic disease. It also has high levels of vitamin C which can assist with respiratory problems, including asthma. 

The leaves of beetroots are often discarded but they are high in iron (they contain more than than spinach) and also contain vitamin K, magnesium and potassium, as well as fibre. They are great blended in something like this smoothie but can also be prepared similar to swiss chard. 

Honeydew is a lovely sweet summer fruit that packed full of vitamin B6 which helps with memory retention and mood. It is also a great choice to help cool you down in summer due it being rich in electrolytes and having a high water content. 

The raw honey adds an additional layer of sweetness and can kill unwanted bacteria and fungus. It naturally contains hydrogen peroxide, an antiseptic.

If you haven't yet added avocado to a smoothie, you are seriously missing out! Avocados not only add a good helping of healthy fats but they add such a nice creaminess to a smoothie.
