Here is a great smoothie that is a great staple to have in your repertoire.

This smoothie is made using the MOD Blend Pro and you can use either fresh or frozen fruit, however using frozen fruit achieves a thicker, creamier consistency.

Though this is lovely and sweet thanks to the banana and berries, the addition of avocado and spinach means it packs a serious nutritional punch.

The bananas help to create a creamy consistency and are high in both fibre and potassium. Potassium is great for regulating blood pressure and improving heart health. Smoothies are also a great way to use up overripe bananas. There is no need to chuck a black banana out, just freeze and add to your next smoothie.

The berries provide sweetness and all berries contain high levels of antioxidants that help curb free radicals in the body.

Adding avocado into a smoothie makes for a really creamy and thick end product and the addition of chia seeds will help thicken the smoothie. Both avocado and chia seeds are a great source of essential fatty acids that help to maintain healthy skin and hair.

Lastly, spinach is such a great addition to smoothies for a number of reasons. It is an easy way to get an extra serve or two of greens as you can add quite a large amount and it does not impact on the taste. Spinach also provides a generous amount of folate, fibre, calcium and vitamins A, C and K.

If you are wanting to make it a more substantial meal, simply add in a scoop of your favourite vanilla protein powder or a tablespoon or two of oats.
